Breathtaking panorama cafe Hotel Stein

No, it is not a secret. But yes, it is really worth seeing it. On the roof of the revitalized 4-star design hotel “hotel stein” you’ll find a crowded bunch of young and hip people, enjoying solid service, good coffee, 60th’s design furniture and a spectacular view on Salzburg’s roofs and mountains.

It is no wonder that when they restored the hotel they first reopened the panorama cafe-bar and lounge. Before the renovation it was open only during the summer period because they hadn’t the possibility to sit inside. During renovation process they expanded the roof cafe bar, glazed most of the walls with huge windows and installed a very stylish mosaic encased bar with funky club chairs.

It can be crowed on sunny afternoons and friday and saturday nights but it is really worth hunting for a table. Even if it is called a cafe don’t expect good cakes and tartes. They have something to eat there but we all know that you come here for the breathtaking panorama.

Go into the lobby of the hotel, take one of the two elevators (at the end of the lobby on the right side) to the top floor, step out of it and think: “OMG, this is grrrreat”. Then close your mouth, look cool, choose a table and wait for the waiter to come to you. Order a coffee – they have an excellent italian coffee machine there – or a glass of wine or beer, relax and enjoy.

My tip: take the right elevator. It takes you directly to the cafe (on 7th floor). Don’t bother about weather or daytime. It is always worth a visit.

open: daily from 09:00 – 24:00.
